4 Ingredients Middle Eastern Bread
__Ingredients__
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups water
- 2 1/4 tsp yeast (1 pack)
__Top Coating__
- flour for dusting and top coating
- egg yolk (optional for top coating)
- sesame seeds
__Recipe__
1. Take 1 cup warm water in a bowl. Add yeast and stir.
2. Add 1 cup flour and mix until well combined.
3. Cover with a cling wrap for 20 minutes.
4. Remove the cling wrap and add 3 cups flour with 1 tsp salt.
5. Add 1 cup warm water and mix until well combined. The dough will be sticky at this point.
6. Cover with the cling wrap and leave it for 1-2 hours in the warm place until doubled.
7. After 2 hours open the wrap. Dust some flour on your work surface. Roll the dough and divide into two parts.
8. Roll the each part into a ball and stretch it with your hands into the circle or rectangular shape. Put the dough in the baking dish lined with parchment paper.
9. Cover it with a napkin for 20 minutes.
10. Take 2 tbsp flour in a bowl. Add 1/4 cup cold water and mix. Then add 1/4 cup hot water and stir well. Add 1 egg yolk or if you want eggless coating then mix just flour and water.
11. Apply the flour mixture on the top of the dough.
12. Make patterns with fingers and sprinkle some sesame seeds.
13. Bake at 480°F for 15 minutes.
