Milky Shortbread Cookies

__Milky Shortbread Cookies__



__Ingredients__


- 180g sugar

- 80g milk

- 10g vanilla extract

- 100g butter

- 1 large egg

- 10g baking powder

- pinch of salt

- 420g flour


__Topping__


- 1 egg

- 40g walnuts

- 30g butter

- 20g sugar

- 40g flour


__Recipe__


1. In 180g sugar, pour 80g milk and 10g vanilla extract. Microwave for about a minute. Stir until sugar dissolves and keep it aside for later use.

2. Beat 100g butter at room temperature until smooth. Add egg and mix until well blended.

3. Add baking powder with 1/2 flour and mix until well incorporated.

4. Pour milk and sugar mixture and mix until well blended. Add remaining flour and mix until you get a smooth dough.

5. Scrape the bowl with a spatula and combine the dough. Cover with a cling wrap and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.

6. Take 40g of walnuts or any nuts of your choice and grind them.

7. In a bowl, mix butter, sugar, flour and nuts for topping.

8. Dust some flour on your work surface and place the dough on it. Roll the dough in flour and press with your hands. Flatten the dough with a rolling pin about 1/4” thick.

9. Cut the shapes with a cookie cutter or a tart mould. You can make 14-15 cookies from this recipe.

10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet aligned with parchment paper.

11. Apply a beaten egg at the top of the cookies. Pour the nut mixture at the top of each cookie.

12. Bake at 350°f for 15 minutes. Cool them on a wire rack. Enjoy the delicious crispy milk cookies with a nutty flavour. Thanks for watching!
