Mutton 1 kg
Cooking oil 1/2 cup
1 large onion
2 Cinnamon sticks
2 Black cardamoms
3 Bay leaves
1 star anise
1/2 cup yogurt
2tsp salt
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tomato
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 cups rice
2 cups water
1 green chilli
Garam Masala Spices:
1 tbsp coriander
1 tbsp cumin
5-6 cloves
10-12 black peppers
4-5 cinnamon sticks
3 black cardamoms
2-3 green cardamoms
_ _ Recipe _ _
1. Sauté onion on medium heat, in half cup oil until golden.
2. Add 2-3 cinnamon sticks,2 black cardamoms, 3 bay leaves, 1 star anise. Sauté about two minutes.
3. Add meat and sauté until meat changes the colour.
4. Add 1 tbsp ginger paste and 1 tbsp garlic paste. Sauté for about two minutes.
5. Add yogurt.
6. Add Garam Masala powder.
7. Add salt, chilli powder & nutmeg.
8. Add tomato and sauté about five minutes.
9. Add lemon juice and two cups water.
10. Cook for 12 minutes on high pressure.
11. Open when it’s done.
12. Soak 2 cups rice in water for half an hour then strain the excess water. Add rice in the meat and press the rice button on instant pot or you can cook in other pot until rice gets cooked.
13. Fluff up the rice. Garnish with green chillies.
